TUNG CHUNG DRAGONS

Tung Chung Dragons is our newest project, and we are delighted to bring our knowledge from the HK Dragons to Tung Chung.

What our sessions offer

The Little Dragons U4’s program was created to embrace the needs of our students and to appeal to their energetic side through running, jumping, kicking, throwing, catching, hopping and special exercises to enhance balance, freedom of movement and body awareness. Infants will learn to participate

in a group and respond to direction while developing confidence and self- esteem. Our Soccer classes/clinics are designed by qualified coaches to give children of all ages a chance to brush up or gain completely new football skills. Our 5-8 year old program is designed to give your child a chance to improve on dribbling, shooting, attacking, defending, passing, balance, co-ordination and one- on-one moves. Whereas our 9–13 year olds will be shown more technical based skills and team play with defending, attacking and positional play which will all be taught in a safe and fun environment. Children from this age group may also have a chance to play in the Hong Kong Junior Football league (the Elite football league for children in HK) and a chance to play in international tournaments.

How do the sessions work?

Children are placed in groups for training based on age as well as ability and experience. All children are assessed during their first few sessions and then placed in a class which best fits their playing ability. There is a maximum of 16 children per trainer.

As their skills advance and match competence improves, all students will have the chance to progress to a more advanced class.

Tung Chung Schedule 2017/2018

Term 1: Tung Chung will start week commencing Monday 28th August 2017 and week ending Friday 15th December 2017.

Note: No Football classes on Monday 2nd October 2017, Thursday 6th October  & Saturday 28th October 2017 due to Public Holiday.

All children will be moving up an age group in August so please see the year of birth and NEW times of your child’s sessions

This term we have made some changes to our program. Over the past years we have solely used the TC North Park pitch.

This term we are moving the Junior Program in Tung Chung from the LCSD North Park hard pitch to the YMCA school in Tung Chung to run alongside our Senior Program. As I’m sure your aware booking field’s with the LCSD is a very difficult process and we cannot guarantee a steady booking at North Park. Times change on a weekly basis and the surface is not allowing our players to develop their full range of skills.

We at Dragons are committed to keep offering our players a safe fun environment to play. The decision to move to YMCA is based on giving our players a regular time slot each week and a better playing surface to keep challenging and developing our players.

We understand that the times have changed and the new classes are a little later at YMCA but again we feel we had to move to give our players the best facilities. If you feel that the times are too late for your child, we still will be for this term only, running a class at Tung Chung North park for our ‘Little Dragons” and U5/U6/U7 program for those that cannot make the new times.

This term we will also be adding a Friday class to offer more flexibility to our players and allow a combination of days to suit all ages.

Players can choose any combination of days to suit whether they attend once or twice a week.
